The One Card Project won the Local Government Professionals Excellence award for Community Partnerships & Collaboration last Friday night, 17th April, at the Gala Event at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
Public Libraries SA nominated the project, with the submission being developed by President Lynn Spurling, past President Judi Cameron (whose idea it was to nominate) and Geoff Strempel. And PLSA ensured recognition of the role of the Board and PLS in the success of the project.
PLSA President Lynn Spurling was really proud to be able to accept the Award with PLS Associate Director Geoff Strempel on behalf of a team who worked so hard to achieve the transformation that this project has achieved.
And of course – it took the decision makers in 68 councils to trust in the project and library staff to do so much hard work to translate a vision into a reality right across the State.
As the winner in this category we are automatically a finalist in the National LGMA Federation Awards which will be presented at the LGMA National Congress Gala Dinner in Darwin on Friday 1 May 2015.
Congratulations to everyone involved.
